Ever since I was a little kid, one of my very first memories was of me travelling in a car while the music player played those everlasting 90s music. As I flip through numerous family albums and keep asking my Mom about the places in the pictures, I realize that my parents are true wanderers as they have covered almost 80% of India travelling with the two of us (me and my little sister) from such an early age.

Hearing stories of late night train departures to living in drastic weather conditions, from how we gave them a tough time with our food demands to all our hilarious photo shoot ideas…these stories are always my favourites.

Hence, the travel bug in me was pre-installed from childhood. I remember how we used to travel to Digha almost every weekend like it was a nearby Mall in today’s time. We had a separate travel bag always ready and by then the roads became clear to us like a picture in a canvas. Every year we had a long trip either to the mountains or to the seas, discovering new cities and adding more and more pictures to our album and video collections. It was like the life anyone would wish for. We travelled a lot until our schooling and studies didn’t permit anymore and we had to put a break to our adventures. Even then every now and then, our little trips to nearby places and late night long drives kept the fire in us alive. Now, that school is done and all of us are working, my goal is to be self-employed so I can relive those memories with my family and complete our India tour.

As I sit at my office desk with my eyes stuck to the computer screen, my mind is always wandering to far off places, making yearly resolutions of traveling someplace new each year. Like most travel geeks, I also want to travel to different places of the world to learn about their cultures and traditions. Challenge myself in difficult situations and shaping myself to be strong and independent like my mother. In short, go back to the wanderlust lifestyle which my parents had started.
