Anmol is an artist & a content creator into the comedy genre. Started just over a year ago Anmol’s video content has been well received by audiences and is spreading quick!

He creates a variety of content into the humour genre, from dubs to mashups, from memes to sketch comedy. Anmol strives to spread smiles through his content & is thoroughly enjoying the journey of entertaining audiences and evolving into a better creator with each video he puts out!

Q1. Glad to be connecting with you Anmol. I’ve checked out your work via Instagram and instantly wanted you up on #InspireMe. Why don’t you tell our readers us a little background of how you started off?

Anmol – Thank you Sonali!
I have always believed that practical experience can teach you way more than any degree or course & hence never pursued post-graduation. Instead, I garnered as much experience I could & was fortunate to have worked with some amazingly talented people who taught me a lot. I was always inclined towards entertaining an audience. The ‘high’ that a round of applause gives me, nothing else can. After completing my graduation Mass media, working with The Viral Fever as assistant director & Video editor, I completed a few free-lance assignments & then started off my own entertainment brand In November 2016.

When I uploaded my first comedy video I wasn’t sure as to how my content would be received by the audiences, but there was one thing I was dead sure of. I didn’t want to do a 9-5 desk job for the rest of my life. I just couldn’t picture myself doing that. So I went ahead and uploaded my first video & then my second & then my third after which there was no looking back.

The ‘high’ that a round of applause gives me, nothing else can.

Q2. Were you always into Comedy or were you Inspired by something or someone?

Anmol – Before I started making videos in the comedy genre, I made a handful of short films in the romantic & drama genres. But when I was decided to create my own brand of entertainment, I chose comedy as a genre as I believed that it’s my strength plus comedy is something people are really looking for in todays’ stressful life.

As far as being inspired by ‘someone’ is concerned, I’ve always said this, there is not one single individual who is my inspiration. But in fact every single content creator out there, small or big, has always inspired me. We are all learning. And there is always so much to learn from every video you watch. Every video I watch, I try to understand What works for the audience, what doesn’t & why?

Every single content creator out there, small or big, has always inspired me. We are all learning.

Q3. Congrats on reaching 10K on Instagram, tell us about your early struggles.

Anmol – Thank you!
I’ve had my fair share of challenges. Dealing with hate was not easy at first but eventually one comes to the realisation that it is almost unavoidable to have some keyboard warriors say stuff that may hurt you. I’ve never really taken any hate seriously after the first month or two.
There have been times when friends or relatives have not been impressed with my decision to pursue my passion considering my academics have been really good. But then, what’s the use of earning a fat paycheque if you’re not looking forward to waking up all charged up the next day to work?

My work is my passion. Yes it’s still not reached a very huge audience but I’ve always believed in this – Dream big, Hustle hard & watch the magic happen. So yeah, I’ve dreamt big, I am working my ass off & I am sure the dreams will be fulfilled too. I am enjoying the journey of content creation & am glad to be following my passion & giving it all I’ve got.

Q4. While checking your feed I saw that you’ve lost a considerable amount of weight and I almost couldn’t recognize you. Curious to know about that.

Anmol – Haha! I was suffering from OCD & Clinical depression. I was living a sedentary lifestyle & had
no motivation to get out of my room. I would binge eat all the time & the pills I took had a side effect of weight gain too. There came a point where my blood reports were way too bad.

Everything was messed up: the cholesterol, blood sugar, everything! On seeing those reports there was this feeling of fear which was so badly needed at that time to get me out of that vicious cycle of eat sleep repeat. I changed my lifestyle, one step at a time & lost 38 kgs in 12 months time.

Q5. I see that you’ve met some pretty well known faces. Can you share some of your most memorable experiences?

Anmol – I’ve been blessed to have worked with some amazing people. Right from creating content
with the super amazing team at TVF (The Viral Fever) to the supremely talented Ashish Chanchlani & his entire team. It’s all been so so good. Working with such talented people teaches you so much.

Working with talented people teaches you a lot.

Q6. How has the family support been so far? Does anyone question you about your Profession?

Anmol – As I mentioned in Q3, relatives beyond my parents & brother may not be the most impressed by my call to not study further or take up some job with more security and a fixed pay. But my parents & brother have been more supportive than I could ever ask for. In ever single way. They’re the reason I can keep going even on the worst days.

Q7. Have people started noticing your work? What’s the response been like?

Anmol – People have started noticing my work. I feel very blessed with the response and overwhelming love that people show to my work. The feeling of people messaging you stuff like “your videos helped me a lot to overcome my depression” is priceless. Though I also believe there is a long way to go & this is just the tip of the iceberg.

The feeling of people messaging you stuff like “your videos helped me a lot to overcome my depression” is priceless.

Q8. Could you give out your tips to anyone who aspires wants to develop a good sense of
humour.

Anmol – There is only one tip I want to give. Watch a lot of content. And by lot I mean hell lot of content!
Keep watching, keep observing keep learning. And never be afraid to experiment. You’d never know for sure if your audience will find something funny or not unless you actually put it out there.

Q9. Tell us about a failure(s) and how you overcame it.

Anmol – There have been times when I expected a video to do really well & just the opposite happened. But I don’t take the poor performance of a video to be a failure. I feel it’s a learning. And every small slip up teaches you something.

Every small slip up teaches you something.

Q10. Last but not the least, How did 2017 treat you and what re your Goals for 2k18 ?

Anmol – 2017 was a great year. The plan for 2018 is the same. To keep working hard & strive to make
unique & engaging content. To reach a larger audience & keep the fire of my passion burning
bright.
